Jeremiah Whitney, 22, of Creston, was taken into custody 11:39 a.m. May 17, on the charge of driving while barred. Whitney was also cited for failure to yield to emergency vehicle, failure to provide proof of financial responsibility and failure to display registration plate.

According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 10:57 a.m. officers stopped a motorcycle at New York Avenue and Fremont Street for not having license plates. The driver, identified as Whitney, had a barred license. Whitney also made comments to officers he was going to flee from them but decided to pull over instead. Whitney did not have vehicle insurance or have the motorcycle registered.

Whitney was transported to the Union County Jail where he was released from after posting $2,000 cash or surety bond.

Julio Ceasar Villalpando Castro. 43, of Creston, was taken into custody 11:32 p.m. May 17, at 806 Laurel Street and charged with theft, fifth degree.

No further information was available.

Villalpando Castro was transported to the Union County Jail and held on $1,000 cash or surety bond.
