Wesley A. Gregg, 40, of Diagonal, was taken into custody 11:36 a.m. April 28, at the Union County Law Enforcement Center on a Union County warrant for the charge of failure to appear on the original charge of violation of probation.

According to Union County District Court documents, Gregg was to appear before the court April 21 and did not appear as ordered.

Gregg was released from the Union County Jail after posting $500 cash-only bond.

Christopher T. White, 27, of Creston, was taken into custody 12:16 a.m. April 29 at the Union County Law Enforcement Center on the charges of driving while revoked; theft, second degree; attempted burglary of a motor vehicle, third degree; public intoxication and OWI, third offense.

According to a Creston Police report, officers responded to the 300 block of North Maple Street for a report of a man, later identified as White, attempting to enter a 1999 Buick LeSabre. A Union County Deputy who was in the area observed White exit the vehicle and run from the car. Officers searched the area and located White hiding underneath a Union County Sheriff’s Office patrol vehicle parked at the law enforcement center.

While speaking with White, the odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected coming from his person. He had bloodshot, watery eyes, made statements referencing consuming alcohol and had impaired balance. A flask with alcohol in it was later located on his person. White consented to field sobriety testing, during which, officers observed clues of impairment. White refused PBT testing and refused to provide a breath specimen for chemical testing.

The owner of the vehicle White was seen exiting confirmed White did not have consent to operate the car and had been stolen. White has a revoked license and two prior OWI convictions.

White was transported to the Union County Jail and held on $12,000 cash or surety bond.

Antonio Hernandez, 31, of Creston, was taken into custody 11:56 p.m. April 29 in the 100 block of West Montgomery Street on the charge of OWI, first offense.

According to a Creston Police report, dispatch received a call about a Chevrolet S10 entering Creston, driving all over the road. Officers located the truck near North Birch and Howard streets and observed it crossing the center line, traveling in the wrong lane of traffic multiple times and failing to stop at the stop sign.

A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, later identified as Hernandez, exited the driver’s seat of the vehicle as officers were walking up to the truck. Contact was made with Hernandez, who had a strong odor of alcohol coming from his person and bloodshot, watery eyes. Several Michelob Ultra cans were observed in the center console of the vehicle including an open, half-empty can. Hernandez admitted to drinking five to six beers earlier in the night. He consented to field sobriety testing which provided clues of impairment. A PBT test indicated a BAC of over .08%.

Hernandez was transported to the Union County Law Enforcement Center where he consented to provide a breath specimen for chemical testing. The result of which indicated a BAC of .179%

He was released from the Union County Jail after posting $1,000 cash or surety bond.

Brandon E. Rudolf, 45, of Lorimor, was taken into custody 9:59 p.m. April 30 in the 600 block of North Elm Street on the charges of OWI, first offense and two counts of child endangerment.

According to a Creston Police report officers, during a traffic stop, in which Rudolf was the driver of the vehicle, the odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected coming from his breath. Rudolf had bloodshot, watery eyes, slurred speech and admitted to consuming alcohol. Two children, 4- and 8-years old, were passengers in the vehicle.

Rudolf was transported to the Union County Law Enforcement Center, where he refused to provide a breath specimen for chemical testing.

He was released from the Union County Jail after posting $5,000 cash or surety bond.

At 12:08 p.m. April 29, Steven Hebner of Madrid reported sometime in the last three weeks, someone had forced entry into a residence on the 600 block of West Adams Street and stole his work tools.

No loss estimate was provided.
