Cody I. Corfits, 25, of West Des Moines, was taken into custody 9:27 a.m. March 31 in the 300 block of North Pine Street on a Iowa Department of Corrections warrant for the violation of probation, on the original charge of burglary, second degree.

According to a Judicial District Department of Correctional Services violation report, on Aug. 12 Corfits was sentenced to five years of probation on the original charge. Corfits violated the terms of his probation when on March 18 he was charged with 15 counts of violation of a no contact/protective order while incarcerated in the Union County Jail.

Corfits was transported to the Union County Jail where he was released from after posting $1,000 cash or surety bond.

Mathias C. Becker, 38, of Creston, was taken into custody 12:51 p.m. March 31 in the 200 block of North Birch Street on an Adams County warrant for the charge of possession of a controlled substance, second offense.

According to an Adams County report, at approximately 6:27 a.m. April 14, a vehicle was stopped near Orange Avenue on Highway 34 for equipment violations. The driver, identified as Becker, told deputies he was on his way to the hospital to seek medical care. Deputies asked Becker if he would like an ambulance to which he said yes.

The odor of marijuana was detected by deputies and a probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted, during which a baggie of a green leafy substance, believed to be marijuana, was located in the center console.

Becker was released to the custody of Adams County.

Amanda M. Steinbach, 31, of Lorimor, was taken into custody 2:21 p.m. March 31 in the 500 block of South Oak Street on an Adams County warrant for the charge of failure to appear on the original charge of contempt.

According to an Adams County District Court document, Steinbach was to appear in court March 9 for a contempt and payment plan compliance hearing and did not appear as ordered.

Steinbach was released to the custody of Adams County.

Heather M. Davis, 40, of Creston, was taken into custody 5:06 p.m. April 2 at her residence on a Union County warrant for the charges of 12 counts of dominion/control of a firearm or offensive weapon by felon, five counts of a controlled substance violation and failure to affix drug tax stamp.

According to a Creston Police report, on Nov. 28 the Multi-Jurisdictional Entry Team executed a search warrant at 1102 N. Maple Street in. During the execution of the search warrant, it was determined Davis resided in the upstairs bedroom which contained firearms. Davis has previous felony convictions prohibiting her from possessing, transporting, shipping or receiving any firearms. After being advised of her rights, Davis admitted to knowingly being in dominion and control of firearms. Davis also admitted to growing marijuana with her boyfriend.

Davis was transported to the Adams County Jail and held on $90,000 cash or surety bond.
