Cody Corfits, 25, an inmate in the Union County Jail, was served March 21 with a Union County warrant charging him with 15 counts of violation of a protective order.

According to a Union County report, from Jan. 14 through Feb. 2, while being held in the jail, Corfits placed repeated phone calls to a female who had a valid protective order in place against Corfits, ordering Corfits not to make any contact with her. These calls were recorded.

Corfits remains incarcerated in the Union County Jail without bond.

Brandon Frey, 31, of Shannon City, was taken into custody March 20 on Pole Road near 240th Street after rolling his Ford F350 in a one-vehicle accident. Frey was charged with: driving while revoked, failure to provide proof of financial responsibility - accident, failure to maintain control, driving while suspended, interference with official acts, operate a vehicle without interlock device and OWI, 3rd or subsequent offense.

According to a Union County report, at approximately 10:30 p.m. deputies arrived on location of a one-vehicle rollover. Witnesses stated an F350 was on Pole Road coming at them and was then found a short distance down the road in a field and said the truck appeared to have rolled. Prior to the accident, Adair and Union County had received reports of the truck driving erratically.

Deputies located the truck and a male, identified as Frey where witnesses stated, Frey was the only one in the vehicle and admitted to drinking and agreed he was the only occupant but denied driving. Frey had the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his person, bloodshot, watery eyes and slurred speech. While attempting to get Frey out of the truck it was found a.m. interlock device, which was required, was not installed in the truck.

Frey was transported to Greater Regional Health to be treated for minor injuries from the accident. After running a criminal and driving history, it was discovered Frey was revoked for a prior OWI and had been convicted on three OWI charges. While being seen at the emergency room, Frey became argumentative and combative with law enforcement. Frey resisted arrest and fought with officers. Frey was offered field sobriety tests and a PBT test, all of which he refused. Frey also refused to provide a breath sample for chemical testing while at the Union County Law Enforcement Center.

Frey was transported to the Union County Jail where he was released from after posting $6,600 cash or surety bond.
