Cassandra D. Allen, 25, of Tingley, was taken into custody 12:58 p.m. Jan. 27 at Walmart on the charge of theft, fifth degree.

According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 12:15 p.m. a store loss prevention employee observed Allen concealing $27 of unpaid items on her person and in her bag.

Allen was cited and released from the scene on a summons to appear.

Andrew W. Long, 33, of Creston, was taken into custody 2:52 a.m. Jan. 29 at the Union County Law Enforcement Center on the charge of OWI, second offense.

According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 2:15 a.m. officers stopped a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado on Highway 25 for careless driving after the truck spun it’s tires and lost control. Contact was made with the driver, identified as Long, who had slurred speech and the odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath. Several open containers were observed in plain view including one in the center console in Long’s reach. Long refused all field sobriety testing at the scene and refused PBT testing. He was transported to the Union County Law Enforcement Center where he consented to provide a breath specimen for chemical testing in the Datamaster. The result indicated a BAC of .149% Long has a previous conviction for OWI in Union County.

Long was transported to the Union County Jail and held on $2,000 cash or surety bond.
