No injuries were reported in a one-vehicle accident north of Creston on Wednesday.

According to a Union County report, at approximately 3:01 p.m. a 2020 GMC Sierra, driven by Lowell Pettit, 80, of Creston, was northbound going over a hill on Iris Ave near 150th Street when Pettit lost control of the truck due to weather conditions. The truck rolled over and came to a rest on its top.

Damages to the Sierra were estimated at $20,000 or a total loss, and it was towed from the scene.

No citations were reported in a one-vehicle accident near Lorimor Wednesday evening.

According to a Union County report, at approximately 6:07 p.m. a 2019 Jeep Compass, driven by Shari Farrell, 49, of Chariton, was southbound on Highway 169 North, during inclement weather conditions. Farrell, who was reportedly driving too fast for the snowy conditions, lost control of the Compass, left the roadway, entered the east ditch and continued through a barbed wire fence and post before coming to a stop in a pasture.

Estimated damage to the Compass was $2,500, and damages done to property was estimated at $500. The Compass was driven away from the scene.
