Beau Boswell, 24, of Afton, was taken into custody Nov. 29 in the parking lot of First National Bank in Afton on two Union County warrants for the charges of theft, second degree and failure to appear on the original charge of criminal mischief, fifth degree.

According to Union County reports Boswell was ordered to appear in court Nov. 22 and did not appear.

At 11 a.m. Nov. 23 a Lorimor First Responder returned to the fire station after a call to find his 2006 Chevrolet HHR missing. Video footage from the fire station showed Boswell walking around to the driver’s side of the vehicle and getting into the driver’s seat before starting the vehicle and driving it away. The HHR was located shortly after the theft in a ditch at Michigan Street and 2nd Ave in Lorimor.

Boswell was transported to the Union County Jail and held on $5,500 cash or surety bond.
