Corry D. Johnston, 34, of Creston, was taken into custody 4:05 p.m. Sept. 26 at his residence on two Union County warrants for the charges of failure to appear on the original charge of possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to appear on the original charges of eluding- while in possession of drugs or while participating in a felony, driving while barred and possession of a controlled substance - methamphetamine, second offense.

According to Union County District Court documents Johnston was scheduled to appear for pretrial conferences on Aug. 26 and Aug. 30 for the original charges. Johnston did not appear as ordered on either date. In addition to issuing warrants for failing to appear, the court also revoked Johnston’s original bond in the amount of $9,000.

Johnston was transported to the Union County Jail and held without bond until seen by the magistrate.

Timothy D. Coleman, 53, of Lenox, was taken into custody 10:27 p.m. Sept. 26 on the 100 block of West Taylor Street for the charge of driving while revoked.

According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 10:07 p.m. Coleman was observed by law enforcement operating a 2012 Chevrolet Malibu on West Taylor Street while his license was revoked in the state of Iowa.

Coleman was transported to the Union County Jail where he was released from after posting $1,000 cash or surety bond.
