Shane C. White, 36, of Creston, was taken into custody at approximately 8:36 p.m. Sept. 20 on Green Valley Road near 130th Street on the charge of driving while barred.

According to an Union County Sheriff’s Office report, a deputy on patrol observed a 1993 Ford F150 traveling on Green Valley Road, driven by White, who deputies knew to have a barred license. Contact was made with the driver, confirmed to be White, who admitted to the deputy his license was barred.

White was transported to Union County Jail where he was released from after posting $2,000 cash or surety bond.

Daniel Edwards, 39, of Osceola, was served with two Union County warrants while being held in Adams County Jail for the charges of theft in the first degree and driving while barred.

According to an Union County Sheriff’s report, at approximately 10 a.m. Aug. 25, Edwards was identified as the driver of a 2006 GMC Sierra pickup stolen from Winterset. Edwards was identified by witnesses and by the owner of the property on Rose Drive in Afton, where Edwards parked the stolen truck. The pickup has a value in excess of $10,000 and his license status is barred in the state of Iowa.

Edwards remains in custody with an additional $12,000 added to his cash or surety bond amount.
