A Creston driver was issued a citation for failure to maintain control of a vehicle in a Saturday afternoon accident.
According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 12:19 p.m. Sept. 17, Jake Hoyt, 14, of Creston, was driving a 2007 Pontiac Grand Am north on Sumner Street when he fell asleep. Hoyt told officers that when he woke up, he saw the rear end of a truck and it was too late to avoid hitting it. The Grand Am crossed two lanes of traffic, hit a curb and hit a parked 2014 Ford F150 which then hit a parked 2012 Dodge Ram.
Estimated damage to the Grand Am was listed as $5,000. Damage to the F150 and Ram were both estimated at $200 each.
