Brooke M. Carter, 23, of Creston, was taken into custody at 2:58 p.m. Sept. 16 on W. Townline Street on a Union County warrant for violation of a no contact/protective order and interference with official acts.
According to a Creston Police report, at 5 p.m., Sept. 10, officers observed Carter violating a no contact order. Officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop using lights and sirens on a black Pontiac Grand Prix with no license plates. The vehicle fled for a short distance, crossing the double yellow line and speeding before it turned into a driveway on the 200 block of W. Townline Street. The victim fled from the driver’s seat into the garage on the property, and Carter fled from the passenger seat into the house. Carter was detained but later released so the children at the property would not be left alone.
Carter was transported to the Union County Jail where she was held until seen by the magistrate.

Tabitha L. Cottrell, 49, of Creston, was taken into custody at 2:25 p.m. Sept. 17, at the intersection of Howard and Division streets for domestic abuse assault causing injury or mental illness first offense.
According to a Creston Police report, the officer was dispatched to a residence on N. Oak Street in regards to a domestic abuse assault. Upon arrival, Cottrell was driving away from the scene. The officer initiated a traffic stop. Upon further investigation, the officer determined Cottrell was the primary aggressor.
Cottrell was transported to the Union County jail and then transferred to the Adams County Jail where she was held until seen by the magistrate.

Angel Valdovinos Rodriguez, 39, of Creston, was taken into custody at 5:55 p.m. Sept. 18 at Casey’s on Highway 25 for driving while barred.
According to a Creston Police report, the officer observed Rodriguez driving his vehicle on Highway 25. The officer had previous knowledge the defendant is barred from driving. He followed the defendant to the Casey’s on Highway 25 where he checked with dispatch to confirm Rodriguez was barred.
Rodriguez was transported to the Union County Jail where he was later released after posting a $2,000 cash or surety bond.
