No citations were issued Thursday in a two-vehicle accident in Creston.

According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 11 a.m. Sept. 15 a 2019 Ford Edge driven by Sherri Cannon, 42, of Creston, was backing out of a parking space at the same time a 2011 Chevrolet Malibu, driven by Megan Wilker, 25, of Creston, was backing out of a parking space on the opposite side in Salem Lutheran Church parking lot. The two drivers did not see each other and the vehicles collided

Each vehicle sustained an estimated $1,500 in damage.

A Creston woman was transported to the hospital Thursday afternoon after hitting a parked car and a tree.

According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 2 p.m. Sept. 15, Shirley Quevedo, 58, of Creston, was sitting in a parking space in a parking lot on Cottonwood Street, facing north in a 2006 Ford F150 Super Crew truck. Quevedo told officers she got a sharp pain in her head causing her to accidentally hit the gas instead of the brake of the truck. The truck accelerated in reverse across the lot, striking the side-mirror of an unoccupied, legally parked 2011 Ford Explorer owned by Roberta Beaty of Creston and continued backward until the truck hit a tree, causing her to stop.

Quevedo was transported to Greater Regional Health by ambulance for unknown injuries. Damage to the F150 was estimated at $4,000. Damage to the Explorer was estimated at $1,000.
