Moesha U. Garcia, 23, of Lenox, was taken into custody 7:59 a.m. Sept. 15 on Levy Street for the charges of driving while suspended and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 6:30 a.m. Thursday, officers stopped a red Ford Fusion at Sycamore and Levy streets for not having license plates. When officers made contact with the driver, identified as Garcia, a strong odor of marijuana was noted. Officers conducted a probable cause search and located a green leafy substance consistent with marijuana and a pipe containing residue. Garcia has a suspended license status in the state of Iowa.

Garcia was cited and released from the scene on a summons to appear.

Jose Carreon, 27, of Lenox, was taken into custody 7:59 a.m. Sept. 15 on Levy Street for the charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to a Creston Police report, Carreon was a passenger in a vehicle stopped for no license plates at Sycamore and Levy streets. When officers approached the vehicle a strong odor of marijuana was detected. Officers conducted a probable cause search and located a green leafy substance consistent with marijuana and a pipe containing residue.

Carreon was cited and released from the scene on a summons to appear.

Juan Zamora, 40, of Creston, was taken into custody 12:36 a.m. Sept. 16 at his residence on the charge of domestic abuse assault, first offense.

According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 12:10 a.m. officers responded to a call at a residence on the 200 block of North Chestnut Street. A female who lives at the residence advised officers Zamora had pushed her and approached her in a threatening manner. Zamora made similar statements about his actions.

Zamora was transported to Union County Jail where he was held without bond until seen by the magistrate.
