Jennifer L. Ham, 37, Lorimor, was taken into custody 8:34 p.m. July 27 on the 700 block of North Maple Street for the charge of domestic abuse assault, first offense.

According to a Creston Police report, officers were called to a residence on North Maple Street for a possible domestic. When officers arrived, a female, identified as Ham and the male victim were located in the backyard of the residence. Both parties advised officers that they had been having a verbal argument because Ham allowed someone to use a drill that belonged to the victim. After speaking with Ham, it was discovered that she had slapped the victim across the face, leaving a red mark on his left cheek. Ham told officers that the victim had made several comments that angered her and that is why she struck the victim.

Ham was transported to the Adams County Jail and is being held without bond until seen by judge.

Richie Rodriguez, 30, of Creston, was taken into custody 9:07 p.m. July 27 at Division and Montgomery streets on a Polk County Warrant for the charge of failure to appear.

According to Polk County court documents, Rodriguez was scheduled to appear in court January 25 for a probation violation hearing on original charge of possession of a controlled substance - marijuana, first offense and did not appear.

Rodriguez was transported to the Union County Jail and is being held without bond until seen by judge.
