No citations were issued in a one vehicle accident Sunday morning in Creston.

According to a Creston Police Department accident report, at approximately 4:30 a.m. July 17, a 2013 Chevrolet Cruze, driven by Zachary Wignall of Stuart, left the roadway while traveling west on Highway 34 on the west edge of Creston when it entered the north ditch and then exited the ditch airborne across Chestnut Street. The vehicle narrowly missed a pole and sign and partially struck a secondary sign. Wignall told officers he had fallen asleep and he left the scene of the accident because his phone was not charged, and he didn’t know what to do.

The vehicle was considered a total loss with estimated damages of $6,000.
