Skeet W. Miller, 51, of Stuart, was taken into custody 5:42 p.m. April 15 by the Stuart Police Department on three Adair County warrants for the charges of 1) violation of pretrial release for the original charge of false imprisonment 2) violation of pretrial release for the original charge of domestic abuse assault impeding flow of air/blood 3) violation of pretrial release for the original charges of burglary first degree, two counts willful injury- causing bodily injury and 2 counts harassment first degree.

According to a Department of Corrections report, Miller violated the terms of his pretrial release by failing to complete a substance abuse evaluation and by using illegal substances.

Miller is being held in the Adair County Jail on a $500,000 cash only bond.

Nicholas D. Allen, 59, of Des Moines, was taken into custody 8 p.m. April 15, at the intersection of 7th and Broad street by Adair Police Department and charged with driving while barred and operating while under the influence second offense.

According to an Adair Police report, a traffic stop was initiated by an officer who observed a Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by Allen, unable to maintain its lane and then drove into the ditch and back out onto the road when the officer activated his vehicles emergency lights. The officer advised that when speaking with the driver, Allen was observed to have the odor of alcoholic beverage, slurred speech and blood shot watery eyes. Allen told the officer that he had only a couple of drinks and a little bit of vodka. Allen consented to field sobriety testing, which showed six out of six indicators during the HGN eye test. Allen then told officers that he could not complete any other testing due to a medical condition. After observing Allen for 15 minute deprivation time, an officer administered a preliminary breath test, in which Allen blew a .114 sample. When officers checked the status of Allen’s license it was also discovered that his license status in Iowa was barred.

Miller is being held in the Adair County Jail on a $2,000 cash or surety bond.

Christopher Fasce, 41, of West Des Moines, was taken into custody 6:48 p.m. April 22, in the 1700 block of Stuart Road on an Adams County warrant.

Custody of Fasce was immediately transferred to Adams County law enforcement.

Shane C. White, 36, of Creston, was taken into custody 11:13 p.m. April 22 in Bridgewater on the charge of driving while barred.

According to an Adair County report, White was traveling south on Bridgewater Road, driving a 2002 Harley Davidson motorcycle, when a deputy observed that the motorcycle had no taillight. A traffic stop was made near the intersection of 4th and Brown street, during which White told the deputy that he did not have a license. A check of his license status in Iowa showed White’s license was barred.

White was released from the Adair County Jail after posting a $2,000 cash or surety bond.

Craven L. Martin, 22, of Mount Ayr, was taken into custody 2:38 a.m. April 23, on Highway 25, for the charge of operating while under the influence first offense.

According to an Adair County Sheriff’s report, a deputy traveling south on Highway 25, south of Orient, was behind a white pickup and observed the truck weaving back in forth in the southbound lane. The drivers side tires of the truck were observed crossing the center line of the road near 330th street and a traffic stop was initiated. Martin, driver of the vehicle admitting to drinking “a few” and his eyes were observed to be watery and blood shot and his speech was slurred. While administering field sobriety tests, deputy could smell the odor of alcoholic beverages coming from Martin. Based on indicators, deputy requested Martin take a preliminary breath test, he refused. Martin was transported to the Adair County Sheriff’s office and consented to the withdrawal of a breath specimen. The test indicated a BrAC of .162.

Martin was released from the Adair County Jail after posting a $1,000 bond.

Devin O’leary, 32, of Canton, Michigan, was taken into custody 3:08 p.m. April 23 at the 600 block of South Division Street, Stuart, for the charges of forgery, possession of paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance marijuana first offense.

According to a Stuart Police report, Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call from a female who reported that her child had been taken and she had information that the child was at a gas station in Stuart. Stuart police made contact with the female on the phone while responding, who told officers that the child was now at Subway in a silver Honda Accord with California license plates. Officers located vehicle in the parking lot of Kum and Go, occupied by a juvenile female and male driver. Officers made contact with driver, O’leary, asking him to step out of the vehicle. When exiting the vehicle, officers smelled marijuana odor coming from inside the vehicle and while door was open, observed a container with a marijuana symbol on it in the drivers door. After confirming that O’leary was the biological parent of the juvenile and that no child abduction had taken place, officers spoke with O’leary about the odor. He admitted that there was a small amount of marijuana in the vehicle. Officers conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle, where they located two small containers of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. During a later search of O’leary, counterfeit money was located on his person, wadded up in his pocket.

O’Leary is being held in the Adair County Jail on a $5,000 cash or surety bond.

David L. Grasty, 63, of Greenfield, was taken into custody 5:57 p.m. April 23, in the 3000 block of 240th Street, Greenfield, on an Adair County warrant for the charge of harassment third degree.

According to an Adair County Sheriff’s Report, officers were presented with video of Grasty throwing trash on property owned by a relative on 240th Street as well as making obscene gestures at cameras, known by Grasty, on the same property. Grasty had previously been requested by the relative to cease these actions which he ignored by continuing the behavior and ignored all attempted contact by the Adair County Sheriff’s Office on the matter.

Grasty was being held in the Adair County Jail without bond until his initial appearance.
