Glenn Rochholz, 53, of Council Bluffs was charged 12:21 a.m. Jan. 24 with three counts of possession of a controlled substance third or subsequent offense, drug tax stamp violations and operating while intoxicated first offense.

Upon fueling up in Adair, Guthrie County deputies observed a male walking to his vehicle at the fuel pumps at Kum and Go. They observed him to have awkward movements while walking consistent with those of someone who is impaired. Deputies ran the license plate of the vehicle, which came back to a Dodge Durango from Nebraska.

The driver, later identified as Rochholz, failed to stop at a stop sign, and deputies initiated a traffic stop. Upon coming up to the driver’s side window, deputies noticed Rochholz was rapidly moving back and forth in his seat and making odd facial movements, and it was clear to deputies that he was under the influence of a central nervous system stimulant.

Previously knowing Rochholz to carry weapons, deputies patted him down, and upon doing so, they found a large bulge that was identified as marijuana.

Rochholz was handcuffed. Deputies also found a methamphetamine water bong in his chest pocket of his bib overalls. In one pouch of his pants pocket were two small clear zip lock baggies, one that contained methamphetamine and the other that contained marijuana. In his other pouch, deputies found 13 round pills that were later identified as methylphenidate hydrochloride, which is also known as Ritalin.

Rochholz was transported to the Adair County Sheriff’s Office and put through standard field sobriety tests. He was under the influence of methamphetamine, displaying numerous signs of impairment during the process and deputies interacting with him.

Rochholz was released on his own recognizance.
