Creston Police

Brady Gale Richert, 43, 505 N. Poplar St., was charged with interference with official acts 1:47 a.m. today on West Adams Street.

According to a Creston Police report, Richert was beating on an apartment door around the aforementioned time on West Adams Street. The reporting party believed he was attempting to physically gain entry to her apartment and wanted Richert removed. Richert refused to provide the responding officer his address so he could be transported home. Richert attempted to walk away when he was told he is required to identify himself.

During the arrest process, Richert was “extremely aggressive” and refused to cooperate with law enforcement and became belligerent and combative. Richert grabbed ahold of an officer’s coat and body camera after refusing to go to his cell. He then made statements about his desire to fight the officer and hit the officer in the face. Once in the jail area, Richert grabbed the bars on the cell and regained grasp of the officer’s coat and body camera again and had to be removed by another officer. He then said he was going to “deck” the officer in the face and his hand came in contact with the officer’s face and neck area. Richert had to be physically escorted to his cell.

Richert is being held on $300 bond in the Union County Jail.
