No citations were issued after an accident 2:54 p.m. Thursday on U.S. Highway 34.

According to a Union County Sheriff’s report, Tommie Richard Stoner, 89, of Afton, was driving a 2011 Chrysler east on highway 34 near mile marker 86 when his vehicle was struck by a 2007 Jeep driven by Maggie Elizabeth Stuart, 33, of Creston. Both vehicles stopped on the shoulder of the road. No injuries were reported.

Estimated damages were $2,500 to Stoner’s vehicle and $3,500 to Stuart’s vehicle.

No citations were issued after an accident on U.S. Highway 5:31 p.m. Monday.

According to a Union County Sheriff’s report, Brittany Kay Cunningham, 23, of Leon, was driving a 2020 Jeep east on Highway 34 where she struck a deer running south. Cunningham’s vehicle was towed from the scene.

Estimated damage was $5,000.
