No citations were issued after an accident 9:56 a.m. Sunday at 801 Laurel St.

According to a Creston Police report, Mary Teresa Latus, 68, Creston, was parked in the handicapped space in front of Dollar Tree. She ran a 2007 Ford up the curb and struck the building, which damaged the structure. During the impact, an employee in the store office was struck from the impact, which caused her to fall and hurt her knee. She was looked at by medics but not taken to the hospital.

Estimated damages were $1,500 to Latus’s vehicle and $10,000 to Dollar Tree’s building.

No citations were issued after an accident 3:46 p.m. Nov. 8 on Osage St.

According to a Creston Police report, Kathleen Ann Ford, 67, Creston, driving a 2011 Chevrolet north came to the intersection at Howard Street and attempted to turn west on Howard as a semi and the sun were obstructing her vision. Mallory Marie Tallmon, 18, Afton, driving a 2008 Ford south on Osage, went through the intersection, where she struck the right front of Ford. Both vehicles were immobilized and towed.

Estimated damages were $2,000 to Ford’s vehicle and $3,000 to Tallmon’s vehicle.

Kimberly Elizabeth Webb, 19, 213 S. West St., Macksburg, was cited with failure to maintain control after an accident 6:02 p.m. Sunday on Iowa Highway 26.

According to a Creston Police report, Webb was driving a 2009 Toyota through the intersection of Adams Street and turned north onto Sumner Avenue when she lost control and struck a small concrete wall outside the roadway. The vehicle was towed by F&M Body Shop. Webb’s vehicle was occupied with four people, one complaining of pain. Greater Regional Medical Center assessed them at the scene.

Estimated damages were $3,000 to Webb’s vehicle and $200 to the concrete wall.

No citations were issued after an accident 9:20 p.m. Sunday on Cromwell Road.

According to a Union County Sheriff’s report, Benjaman Lee Hunsucker, 39, Creston, driving a 2011 Chevrolet, was traveling east when his vehicle was struck by a deer. Hunsucker’s vehicle suffered front end damage, but was able to drive from the scene.

Estimated damage was $2,000 to Hunsucker’s vehicle.

No citations were issued after an accident 3:49 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Laurel Street and U.S. Highway 34.

According to a Creston Police report, Stacie Marie DeLong, 36, Creston was driving a 2018 Chevrolet north on Laurel Street when Roger Allen Zimmerman, 44, Avoca, was driving a 2006 Chevrolet south on Laurel Street, waiting to turn east when stopped at a traffic light. DeLong and Zimmerman entered the the intersection at the same time and Zimmerman was unable to stop before being struck by DeLong. Both drivers claimed to have the green light, so officers reviewed footage taken from a camera at a nearby hotel. The footage showed the light green for DeLong and Zimmerman stopped waiting to turn. Zimmerman turned as DeLong entered the intersection and both struck each other. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Estimated damages were $10,000 to DeLong’s vehicle and $7,500 to Zimmerman’s vehicle.
