Anthony James Parmenter, 22, 706 E. Howard St. was charged with failure to appear on a prior warrant 6:57 p.m. Friday at his residence.

Parmenter was released on $1,000 cash bond from Union County Jail.

Bridget Ashley Brooks, 26, 1501 N. Lincoln St. was charged with escape from custody, disorderly conduct and assault on person in certain occupations and interference with official acts 5:26 p.m. Sunday at her residence.

According to a Creston Police report, Brooks was reported to be threatening others and had a knife in her possession. Witnesses made statements that Brooks was yelling near other individuals near an apartment complex. A juvenile witness stated Brooks made statements consistent with choking her and was afraid. Witnesses also made statements that Brooks was throwing items outside around the apartment complex where others reside.

When officers found Brooks the knife was observed in her possession. Officers initiated emergency lights, and ordered her to stop walking away from them She would not comply. When attempting to detain her she resisted by grabbing a chain link fence and spat on an officer as she was put into a patrol car.

As Brooks was en route to the Union County Jail on misdemeanor charges, she was able to escape from the custody of officers.

Brooks was being held without bond in Adams County Jail awaiting an appearance before the magistrate.

Gary Lee McDougal of Afton reported his vehicle had been broken into Friday in the 1100 block of Manor Dr., Creston.

McDougal stated that cash and medication was taken.

Estimated loss was $42.

Zackary Charles Huddleson of Afton reported his vehicle had been vandalized between 12 and 7 a.m. Friday in the 700 block of Fremont St. in Creston.

Huddleson said someone had removed and taken the driver door off his silver 1997 Dodge Ram 2500.

Estimated loss was $400.
