No citations were issued after an accident 11:32 p.m. Tuesday on 140th Street.

According to a Creston Police report, Blaine Andrew Sportsman, 24, of Laclede, Missouri, was driving a 2015 Ford traveling west carrying a camper when he looked at his cell phone GPS to check where he was going. Sportsman stated the camper wheels on the passenger side began to go off the north side of the road near the ditch. He stated he tried to get the camper on he road and the momentum continued toward the ditch. The passenger side of the camper went in the ditch and flipped, which flipped Sportsman’s vehicle also. There was significant damage to the truck and the camper and Sportsman traveled to a nearby campground to arrange for a tow in the morning.

Estimated damages were $20,000 to Sportsman’s vehicle.

No citations were issued after an accident 5:32 p.m. Tuesday on Iowa Highway 25 North.

According to a Creston Police report, Jesse Louis White, 42, driving a 1996 Oldsmobile, was staring at corn fields while driving and the vehicle in front of him, Trevor Blake Luther, 26, driving a 2015 Ram, was slowing down to accommodate a semi carrying crops in front of him. White admitted he was distracted and hit his brakes and struck Luther’s rear. The accident damaged White’s steering wheel and he complained of a headache which led him to be transported by ambulance to Greater Regional Medical Center. Luther was uninjured and stated his father-in-law would help tow the vehicle.

Estimated damages were $5,000 to White’s vehicle and $2,000 to Luther’s vehicle.

No citations were issued after an accident 12:47 p.m. Tuesday at 101 E. Montgomery St.

According to a Creston Police report, an unoccupied 2016 Chevrolet was parked facing west when it was struck in the driver’s side panel, which left green paint.

Estimated damages were $1,500 to the vehicle.
