Duffield pounded on the windows and the back cage of the patrol vehicle. When the deputy returned to the vehicle, Duffield had broken off a piece of partition and told the deputy it was useless to protect him. At the Adair County Jail, deputies were called to Duffield’s cell after he ripped off a plank from a bench in his cell and threw it at the window.
