Isaiah James Lovell, 18, 1599 Maranatha Ln., was charged 1:08 a.m. Tuesday with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver; methamphetamine over five grams and possession of a controlled substance at the intersection of South Lincoln Street and U.S. Highway 34.

According to a Creston Police report, Lovell was stopped for failing to display license plates and a K-9 was deployed and alerted to the odor of narcotics. Officers found a backpack in the back seat with a pipe and a lockbox with methamphetamine, a digital scale with methamphetamine residue and baggies used to package narcotics for sale.

Lovell was being held in the Union County Jail awaiting bond hearing.
