Jason Richard Berendes, 44, 604 E. Maple St., Red Oak, was charged 1:15 p.m. Monday with failure to stop and Kami Sue Winther, 43, 202 SE Jackson St., Greenfield, was charged with failure to prove insurance after an accident on 110th street.

According to a Creston Police report, Berendes, driving a 1999 Ford and Winther, driving a 2004 Ford were both westbound on 110th street, which is a gravel road. Winther slowed to pull into a driveway, which Berendes could not see due to the gravel dust and struck Winther’s rear and side. Berendes entered the left ditch and struck a utility pole, causing it to break. Winther entered the same ditch and struck Berendes’s rear.

Estimated damages were $5,000 to Berendes’s vehicle and $10,000 to Winther’s vehicle.

No citations were issued after an accident 10:48 a.m. Monday on U.S. Highway 34.

According to a Creston Police, Kelly Kay Brandt, 55, 3715 GA Highway 49, Oglethorpe, Georgia, driving a 2018 Ford, was pulling into the Dollar General parking lot and struck a light cable support to avoid collision with another driver.

Estimated damage to Brandt’s vehicle was $2,000.
