Amber Dawn Johnson, 33, 3040 Simon Ave., Cedar, was charged 3:30 p.m. Monday on Union County warrants for failure to appear on the original charges of five counts of forgery and failure to appear on the original charge of possession of a controlled substance at an undisclosed location.
According to Creston Police reports, on Jan. 17, 2020, Johnson was the passenger in a stopped vehicle in which the driver was barred. A K-9 was deployed and methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were discovered. On Feb. 29, 2020, Johnson forged five checks amounting to $653.77 from a dead bank account. From that same account, she forged $320.31 at Casey’s. Total loss was $974.08.
Johnson was being held in the Adams County Jail on $10,000.

Adan Edry Vega, 57, 1203 W. Mills St., was charged 10:05 p.m. Monday with violation of a protective order at his residence
According to a Creston Police report, a female victim stated Vega was in her basement and made statements knowing he was not supposed to be there as a no contact order was put in place.
Vega was being held in the Union County Jail awaiting bond.

Adam Edward Lee Austin, 24, 503 E. Irving St., was charged 12:19 a.m. Monday domestic abuse assault, display or use of weapon and obstruction of emergency communications at his residence.
According to a Creston Police report, Austin shoved the female victim to the ground, preventing her from calling 911. The victim’s glasses were bent. A male also in the residence stated that Austin displayed a knife and a baseball bat in a threatening manner.
Austin was being held in the Union County Jail awaiting bond.
