Luke A. Mullen, 38, of Des Moines, was charged with second-degree theft 2:51 p.m. Friday at the Union County Law Enforcement Center.

According to a Creston Police report, on Jan. 2, a person contacted Creston Police to report that someone broke into his house and stole several items, including his car. On March 24, the victim’s car was located in a parking lot at Southbrook Green Apartments, 1516 Evergreen Ave. A Des Moines police officer who had the car impounded, found Mullen’s wallet, identification, card and a letter addressed to Mullen in the vehicle. The vehicle was returned to the victim, who later brought items to the LEC that were left in the vehicle. One of those items was a receipt from Auto Zone with the vehicle’s info on it and the name and phone number of Brianne Lark from Pueblo, Colorado. Mullen lived in Pueblo recently. Video from Auto Zone is still pending, but they did say that there were two individuals in the video. DNA evidence is pending from a piece of gum, sweatshirt and a hat that were left in the vehicle, as well.

Mullen was being held in the Union County Jail on $5,000 bond. And additional hold is in place for a warrant issued by Pueblo County, Colorado.

William A. Bethke IV, 31, 212 N. Maple St., was charged with public intoxication 2:30 a.m. Friday at the Union County Jail.

According to a Creston Police report, officers found Bethke stumbling near the intersection of of North Maple and West Montgomery streets. He had slurred speech and alcohol on his breath. Bethke used profanities and made threats toward the officers.

Bethke was released from the Union County Jail on a $300 bond.

Jacob J. Davis, 25, of Cromwell, was charged on a Madison County warrant for the charge of failure to appear on the original charges of operating while intoxicated, second offense, and possession of a controlled substance, second offense.

Davis was released to the custody of Madison County.

Devon Keller, 30, 503 W. Summit St., was charged with domestic assault, first offense, 4:20 p.m. Sunday at the Law Enforcement Center.

Keller admitted to pushing a female victim against a wall. Officer observed visible injuries which corroborated the incident.

Keller was being held in the Union County Jail awaiting an appearance before the magistrate.

Travis Wambold, 44, 402 S. Maple St., was charged with driving while barred 7 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of South Maple and West Freemont streets.

Wambold was being held on $2,000 bond in the Union County Jail.
