Richard Allen Swartz, 64, of Corning was charged on an Adams County warrant for failure to appear on the original charges of two separate drug distribution violations to a minor, possession of marijuana, and unlawful possession of a prescription drug 11:09 a.m. Feb. 22.

Swartz was transported to the Adams County Jail on $25,300 bond.

Jill Christine Currin, 42, of Villisca was charged on an Adams County warrant stemming from a charge of third degree harassment at 8 p.m. Feb. 24.

Lyndon Daniel Bright, 21, and Mia Marie Maxwell, 20, both of Corning were charged with domestic abuse simple assault and domestic abuse assault causing bodily injury, respectively, 6:18 p.m. Feb. 27. at Corning hospital emergency room.

According to an Adams County Sheriff’s report, officers spoke to Bright and Maxwell at the Corning hospital emergency room and found that they had gotten into a verbal argument that escalated into a physical conflict. Bright admitted to pushing her to the ground and putting his hands around her neck after she bit him on his right bicep. Maxwell admitted to leaving bite marks on Bright. She was released from the hospital. The officers, nurses, and doctor observed no visible marks on her neck.

Bright and Maxwell were released from Adams County Jail on $300 bond and $1,000 bond, respectively.

Robert Michael Carter, 32, of Walnut was charged with leaving the scene of an accident with failure to provide aid or information, driving while license denied, suspended or revoked, eluding and careless driving 4:53 a.m. on Feb. 28.

According to an Adams County Sheriff, at 4:53 a.m., deputies attempted to stop a 2015 Chevrolet for traveling 80 mph in a 55 mph zone on Highway 34. The vehicle attempted to elude the deputy by going northbound on Adams/Montgomery Ave. and then failed to stop at the intersection of 210th St. and Adams/Montgomery Ave. After the vehicle entered the north field where it eventually got stuck, Carter exited the vehicle and fled on foot.

The passenger was located at the vehicle suffering from injuries and was transported by ambulance to CHI Health Mercy Corning. Fremont County assisted Adams County police and deployed their K-9 unit to track down Carter. Red Oak Police, the Montgomery County Sheriff office and Iowa State Patrol also assisted in the search.

The search was called off at 7:14 a.m. before Carter was located by deputies at 8:08 a.m. inside United Farmers Cooperative gas station with injuries sustained by the accident in Corning.

Carter was transported by a deputy to CHI Health Mercy Corning.
