Richard Dean Weaver, 50, 413 W. Howard St., was charged with driving while suspended 9:50 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of North Oak and West Summit streets.

Weaver was released from the Union County Jail on a $300 bond.

Lillian Rose Ray, 55, 809 W. Adams St., Apt. 1B, was charged with first-offense possession of a controlled substance, failure to provide proof of financial responsibility and failure to obey a traffic device 2:56 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of South Sumner Avenue and Sheldon Street.

According to a Creston Police report, officers stopped Ray for failing to stop at a stop sign and having a non-working brake light and cracked windshield. During the traffic stop, K-9 Baxo was deployed and showed behavior changes near the rear passenger side quarter panel and driver’s side door. A cellophane wrapper containing a crystalline substance that tested positive for methamphetamine was located in Ray’s wallet. The case is currently under investigation and additional charges are pending.

Ray was released from the Union County Jail on $1,000 bond.
