No citations were filed after an accident 1:21 p.m. Tuesday on the 100 block of Redwood Avenue.

According to a Union County Sheriff’s report, Harley Robert Stonehocker, 30, of Lorimor was driving a 2006 Chevrolet southbound on Redwood Avenue while Monica Jean Headings, 53, of Lorimor was driving northbound on Redwood Avenue in a 2016 Jeep. Both vehicles were traveling in the middle of the roadway due to 100% snow-covered road conditions. As they crested the hill, the two vehicles collided head on. Stonehocker refused medical treatment. Headings was transported by helicopter to Methodist Hospital in Des Moines with serious injuries. The Union County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Iowa State Patrol. The Afton Fire Department and first responders performed the extrication and assisted Greater Regional Health paramedics.

Estimated damage was $12,000 to Stonehocker’s vehicle and $15,000 to Headings’ vehicle.

No citations were filed after an accident 8:45 p.m. Thursday on State Highway 25.

According to a Union County Sheriff’s report, Jimmy Alen Robertson, 56, of Bridgewater was driving a 2014 Chevrolet north on State Highway 25 when he hit the east shoulder of the road, overcorrected and landed in the west ditch. Robertson could not get his seatbelt unbuckled; medics cut the seatbelt and released Robertson.

Estimated damage was $3,000.
