Cedric Sanders, 49, 715 W. State St., Rockford, Illinois, was charged with domestic assault 2:40 a.m. Jan. 23 at 803 E. Irving St.

According to a Creston Police report, Sanders pushed a female, who told law enforcement officers she was punched in the face by Sanders. Officers observed the victim to have swelling to the face and lower lip area. They also observed Sanders to have a cut on his knuckle and scratches to his right cheek. Sanders admitted to being angry and to pushing the victim.

Sanders was released from the Union County Jail on a $300 bond.

Jessie Lynne Martin, 19, 314 ½ N. Sycamore St., was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia, 5:02 p.m. Jan. 23 at 1016 Crest Drive.

According to a Creston Police report, Martin was observed in the back of a vehicle on Crest Drive with multiple baggies of a green leafy substance consistent with marijuana. Other devices with a green leafy substance were found in the vehicle, as well. Martin admitted the device was hers.

Martin was released from the Union County Jail on a $1,300 bond.

James Reese Hamill, 29, 3028 57th St., Lubbock, Texas, was charged with reckless driving 2:30 a.m. Jan. 24 at the Union County Law Enforcement Center.

According to a Creston Police report, Hamill was impaired as he operated a motor vehicle and backed into a gas pump at Casey’s General Store, 102 W. Taylor St. Hamill consented to a field sobriety test that indicated he was impaired at the time of the accident but was under the legal limit when he tested at the law enforcement center.

Hamill was cited and released from the Union County Law Enforcement Center on his promise to appear.

Matt Hamm, 26, 402 N. Maple St., was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault and interference with official acts 8:05 p.m. Jan. 24 at his residence.

According to a Creston Police report, a female victim stated Hamm grabbed and pushed her, which was witnessed by a juvenile witness. The juvenile also said Hamm raised a fist at them. As officers attempted to make contact with Hamm, he shut the door on them as they tried to make contact with him. Hamm made statements to officers consistent with what the victim had claimed.

Hamm was being held in the Union County Jail awaiting an appearance before the magistrate.
