Grant Patrick Ponder, 47, 505 S. Cedar, Cortez, Colorado, was charged with public intoxication 1:25 a.m. Sunday at 102 W. Taylor St.

According to a Creston Police report, Grant was staggering, his speech was slurred, and his eyes were bloodshot. Grant admitted to drinking alcohol and being impaired but refused a blood alcohol test. A nearly empty bottle of vodka was found near him. Grant yelled at customers at the Casey’s General Store and at officers during the incident.

Grant was released from the Union County Jail on his promise to appear.

Ian Michael Stover, 44, 208 N. Oak St., was charged with violation of a protection order 3:13 p.m Sunday at his residence.

According to a Creston Police report, officers were dispatched to a residence for assistance in removing a male from the property. Officers had been contacted the day before about a male making threats to the homeowners and illegally living in a camper on the property. Officers found a protection order between Stover and a victim who had been staying at the residence. Stover admitted to going inside the residence but said he was told by the victim that the protective order had been dropped.

Stover was being held in the Union County Jail awaiting an appearance before the magistrate.

Justin Alan Robertson, 40, 419 New York Avenue, was charged on a Union County warrant for failure to serve sentence on the original charge of first-offense possession of a controlled substance — marijuana 12:48 p.m. Monday.

Robertson was being held in the Union County Jail until remainder of jail time is served.
