No citations were issued after an accident 7:43 a.m. Tuesday at the intersection of North Elm and West Howard streets.

According to a Creston Police report, Reahna Jewel Portwood, 24, 302 N. Division St., was stopped at a stop sign on West Howard Street in a 2008 Chevrolet, when Caitlyn Nanette Gist, 17, 311 N. Elm St., approached the intersection traveling north on North Elm Street driving a 2002 Chevrolet and attempted to turn onto West Howard Street. Portwood said she did not see Gist’s vehicle and pulled out into the intersection striking Gist’s vehicle on the front driver’s side. The report noted Portwood’s windshield was not defrosted properly.

Estimated damage was $1,500 to Gist’s vehicle and $1,000 to Portwood’s vehicle.

No citations were issued after an accident 11:40 a.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Highway 34/West Taylor and South Birch streets.

According to a Creston Police report, Shaun M. Pattrin, 36, of Omaha was driving a 2019 Toyota westbound on Highway 34 and slowed to make a right hand turn onto South Birch Street. Dylan Daniel Meggison, 25, of Creston, driving a 1999 Toyota, was facing west on West Taylor Street at the same intersection with his turn signal activated. Pattrin’s vehicle struck Meggison’s in the rear passenger side panel.

Estimated damage was $5,000 to Pattrin’s vehicle and $2,500 to Meggison’s vehicle.
