LETTER:Gas wars and other tyrannies of the administrative state

You may have heard about the proposed ban on new gas stoves. It turns out, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the outright ban has been cancelled. But, the CPSC is proceeding to develop new rules governing the manufacture, sales and use of many household appliances.

As a matter of fact, according to Texas Congressman Pat Fallon, Chairman of the House Subcommittee on Economic Growth, Energy Policy and Regulatory Affairs, the CPSC is working on new rules for dishwashers, refrigerators, water heaters, furnaces, air conditioners and other household appliances. Their goal is to improve energy efficiency. Not a bad goal, but based on past performance we can rely on the administrative state (Leviathan) to increase the cost to purchase and use these appliances beyond any possible savings.

In September, the Department of Energy proposed new guidelines which would change the technology currently in use which would raise the cost of gas fueled furnaces enough to effectively eliminate them by 2028.

The bottom line is the Biden administration is attempting to reduce or eliminate natural gas as a source of heating our homes, offices and fueling our appliances. This will force us to rely on more electric consumption. The push is on for increased use of “renewable” wind and solar electric generation.

Combine this with the push for electric vehicles and we can visualize the train wreck coming when the wind stops blowing or the skies are cloudy. These two “favored” methods of producing electricity are woefully inadequate and unreliable.

The train wreck looks like this: We must have adequate backup electric generating systems in place. Our government is attempting to close existing and prevent the construction of new electric generation plants fueled by coal or natural gas or nuclear energy. Leviathan has determined, without input from you or me, or other consumers, that these fuels are “icky” and will cause global warming. According to the high priestesses, Greta Thunberg, global warming will cause us all to die in just a few years. We must destroy our standard of living in order to survive.

We add this electric demand to the already inadequate electric distribution system in the U.S.A. The electric demand will soar to unsustainable levels. Rationing of electricity will be the inevitable result. Leviathan will force us to trade our homes for apartments, our autos for mass transit, our vacations for videos, our almost unlimited range of products and services to just a few, government approved, options. The plan is to make electricity so expensive that we must reduce our consumption. “We will own nothing and be happy.”

In other news, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has been compelled to release records showing that in 2021, the Pfizer Drug Company studied only 23 people to test the COVID vaccine booster prior to asking the FDA to approve the distribution, sale and use of the booster. The FDA approved the use of the booster, and three weeks later about 8.9 million boosters had been administered. Almost all of the 8.9 million booster shots were funded by the U.S. government.

One of the consequences of this appalling approval system was the use of the COVID vaccination in the United States Military by the Biden Administration. The U.S. Department of Defense required the acceptance of the poorly tested COVID vaccine for all members. Over 27,000 members of the military were “involuntarily separated” from the service when their request for religious exemptions were denied.

The Army is suffering a recruitment crisis, and has missed its recruitment goal by about 10,000 recruits in the last two years, almost exactly the number who were involuntarily separated for refusing to submit to the dubious COVID vaccine.

In another stunning announcement, Glamour magazine has named a transgender model to its 2023 Women of the Year list. The magazine named six biological women to the list. This transgender woman, from the Philippines, holds several other titles. He became the first trans woman ambassador for Miss Universe Nepal in 2020 and the first Asian-Pacific Islander trans woman to be named Playboy magazine’s Playmate of the Year in 2019.

We live in a strange world.
