LETTER: Thank you

Julia Frederick

Orient Library Director

Thank you to all who came out to the Annual Garden Fair and Plant Sale this last weekend.

The weather surprised us by being nice and the event was, once again, a great success. Much appreciation goes to the “Friends of the Library” namely Mary Brown, Lois Frederick, Donna Miller, Dixie Moore and Lisa Swanson for annually putting this event together and making it the success that it is and especially to Lisa Swanson who year after year goes the extra mile and hosts this event. It proves to be a great location.

Also thank you to the Library Board, namely: Diane Burgmaier, Tammy Eigenheer, Kayla Mensing, Jana Scott, Teresa Thompson and Peni Tussey for donating items and/or their time to help set up and tear down. A special thank you to Jim Frederick who sheltered the plants the night before in case of storms and helped throughout the day moving tables and chairs and whatever else we needed. There are others who helped behind the scenes, and to them, please know it did not go unnoticed and we are so very grateful to you all. And last but certainly not least we thank our gardeners who go to the hard work of digging and potting their plants in order to furnish them for the sale. They definitely are the stars of the show.

To see this great turn out and support for our local public library definitely makes you proud to live in this community. Thank you all so very much again. Make sure to stop in and see for yourself what the Orient Community Library has to offer! Look for the Library sign on the east side of the Orient-Macksburg Elementary Building. Our summer hours are 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Friday; 3-6 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday, closed Saturday and Sunday. However, we host a Community Coffee every second Saturday of the month. You can check us out on our website orient.lib.ia.us or Facebook Page “Public Resource Technology Center” for coming events or programming. Have a safe and enjoyable summer.
