As a farmer, I want to share a few thoughts during National Ag Week.
Food is produced in many places, whether locally in southwest Iowa, across the country or around the world. Whether you are a vegan, meat eater or somewhere in between, food must be consumed in order to sustain life.
From organic produce, cage-free eggs, grass-fed, or corn finished meats, it all starts at the farm. With food costs up 15% in the last year, no matter what your food label says, know a passionate farmer produced it safely. And we’re lucky to have such choices.
One of the choices our family farm offers is farm fresh eggs & meat goats.
When possible, I’d encourage you to buy local, wholesome products from farmers in your community. Buying local allows you to get the freshest food, and you’ll learn more about where the product originates. You’ll also be able to ask farmers questions you have and understand the pride we have in what we do.
Thank you to those who continue to support farmers around the world and right here in Union County.
