Salem Lutheran Church Outreach Committee Sherri Nissen
Once again, the Creston and Greenfield communities have stepped up to help a family in need. On behalf of Salem Lutheran Church and the Michael and Abbey Lochmoeller family we thank you those who donated auction items, purchased items and supported our soup supper and benefit.
We also thank the Greenfield School District, Abbey’s place of employment and the community for their huge showing of support. Together we have raised a great deal of funds to help defray medical and travel expenses as their 9 year-old-son Joseph must travel to Boston for medical care. Joseph has a rare condition called Midaortic Syndrome, a narrowing of the main aorta that supplies blood to the body’s organs. Boston Children’s Hospital is the only hospital that is equipped to do the surgery.
Through local hospitals, Des Moines, and Iowa City the family has received the care, guidance and preparation for Joseph to travel this summer for surgery. Due to the complexities of the necessary surgeries, he will have a long recovery of four to six weeks. Although we would like to thank everyone personally, it is difficult and to numerous to do so, as we would hate to leave anyone out. Once again, Thank You for the support given in a time of need. God’s Blessings to all,
