LETTER: Thanks for the support

Roger Nurnberg

Creston

To let everyone know, the Creston Pyrotechnics team, also known as The Shooters, are right on scheule with the 10,000 Crestonians Fourth of July show.

The Shooters presently have 12 active member from Creston and areas around Creston. The Shooters are legally licensed by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives as manufacturers which gives the team the latitutude to make the Crestonian show unique and to stretch your donation dollar as fas as we can. Members range from those who are just interested in pyrotechnics to those who wish to practice the fine art of filling the sky with color. Our funding comes entirely from donations.

All Creston shooters are inusred under workers’ compensation and paid for the time they spend on each display site. This year’s members of the Creston Shooters will be treated to free tickets for their immediate family to the International Pyrotechnics Guild Grand Public Display, which will be at the NASCAR race track in Newton on Friday, Aug. 5. Applications for membership in the Creston Shooters will also qualify for these free tickets until June 30. We can always use more hands. Call or visit the Creston Chamber of Commerce office at 782-7081.

This year the Shooters are presently scheduled to produce six public displays. Members volunteer for any shows they may want to work on after they receive their personal ATFE clearance. This year The Shooters are producing shows for Clarinda, Osceola, Adams County Conservation at Lake Icaria, Adair and Wayne county fairs. But the 10,000 Crestonian show will always be our pride and joy.

We want to take this opportunity to thank those who have helped put our pyrotechnics together in the past and invite anyone with an interest to contact us for a membership application. For those of who just like to follow The Shooters, you can find us on Facebook at www.facebook/com/pages/Creston-Shooters-Pyrotechnics-Association.
