LETTER: A big ‘thank you’ for supporting veterans

As Post Commander of VFW Post 1797, I would like to express my appreciation for the outstanding support of veterans during our Poppy Day’s event during Memorial Day weekend. The funds donated will be used to assist needy veterans in our area.

I would also like to extend my appreciation for the support for the Memorial Day events held at Calvary, Graceland and Greenlawn cemeteries on Memorial Day. Recognizing the service of veterans at each of these cemeteries helps us to remember the reason for having Memorial Day. Names of veterans at Calvary and Graceland Cemeteries can continue to be sent so that they can be recognized at the Memorial Day services in 2022.

Thanks again for supporting the veterans in Union County.
