COLUMN: Show must go on

As they say on Broadway “the show must go on.” While a super majority of district voters did not support the proposed education and facilities improvement plan, the work and projects still exist.

The board will review the proposed plans and data that has been collected over the past seven years to prioritize the order in which projects can be addressed over an extended period of time and based on available funding. The priorities will focus on a process that will take many years to complete and likely increased costs over time. Due to the limited funds, the process completing projects will take time.

On a positive note, the majority of district voters did support the proposed education and facilities plan that wouldn’t have raised district taxes. Each day, I see or experience the support of our community for children, staff, and our schools and do not take it for granted. Strong schools are a reflection of strong and supportive communities that work together to do what is best for children. I firmly believe that together we provide our children with the best opportunities for growth and success.

I welcome you to attend one of the many events and activities that our children and staff provide; they will make you proud of our schools and community. Please visit the district website to see the schedule of events and activities and come out and support them. Thank you for supporting our schools and making them the pride of our communities!
