Melody Miller, 60, of Creston, passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at her home. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 14, at Powers Funeral Home, 601 New York Ave., Creston. Pastor Tim Maxa will officiate. Burial will take place in Maple Hill Cemetery in Cromwell. Open visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m., with family receiving friends from 10 to 11 a.m., Thursday, May 14, at Powers Funeral Home.

Melody Ann Miller was born Aug. 24, 1965, in Creston. She was raised in Creston and educated in both Cromwell and Creston schools. On June 8, 1989, Melody was united in marriage to Steven Arthur Miller in Creston. The couple made their home and built their lives together in Creston. Melody worked as a machine operator at the Trolli Candy Factory before beginning a long career at Bunn-O-Matic, where she was employed for more than 26 years as an assembler.

Melody was a loving mother whose early years were full of warmth, care and a deep devotion to her family. Those who knew her best remember the comfort of her presence and the love she gave so freely. In time, she struggled with addiction, a disease that took hold of her life and grew stronger than the ability to fight it. Despite the love surrounding her, the weight of that struggle became too much, and in the end, it overtook her.

Melody is remembered not only for the hardship she endured, but for the mother she was, the love she gave, the memories she created and the part of her that remained, even in the darkest moments. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered and forever carried in the lives of those she touched.

Survivors include her daughters: Sheryl Dillinger of Creston, Jessica (Reese) Geis of Creston and Stephanie Miller (Jade Cole) of Clearfield; sons: Justin Miller (Page Millslagle) of Creston; Eric (Shelby) Miller of Corning and Matthew (Dawn) Miller of Creston; 14 grandchildren: Kyle, Haylea, Ayden, Cassidy, Wyatt, Jayce, Madison, Jaxson, Griffin, Hunter, Casey, Connor, Tysen and Maggie; three brothers: Jim (Brenda) Sickels of Creston, Richard (Jan) Sickels of Lenox and Paul (Janet) Sickels of Creston; sister Carolyn Gray of Creston; two sisters-in-law, Brenda Miller of Waukee and Bonnie Miller of Ishpeming, Michigan, and brother-in-law Scott Miller of Creston.

Melody was preceded in death by her husband Steve Miller in 2018, uncle Melvin (Mildred) Sickels; sister Vicki Whetzel; brother Michael Sickels; three brothers-in-law: Bradford Miller, David Miller and Don Miller and sisters-in-law, Joyce Manley and Peggy Miller
