Nathan Novotny, 21, of Creston, died Monday, March 23, 2026, at his home in Creston. Celebration of Life Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, March 30, at First Baptist Church in Creston. Pastor Dave Tebbenkamp will officiate. Open visitation will be 1-5 p.m. Sunday, with family receiving friends 3-5 p.m. at First Baptist Church. Services will be livestreamed. Burial will be private. Nathan Lee Novotny was born January 17, 2005, in Cedar Rapids to Matthew Wayne Novotny and Laurie Jean (Meyer) Novotny. In his early years he was homeschooled and later attended Creston High School. He also graduated from Barbizon Modeling School in Des Moines. Nathan worked at Michaels Foods in packaging and sanitation, Cardinal Glass and Wellman’s.
Nathan is survived by his parents Matthew and Laurie Novotny of Creston, fiancé Aaniah Haynes of Creston, two daughters, Ala’ya Renee Novotny and Azariah Erin Novotny of Creston; grandparents: Kathy Meyer of Iowa Falls, Mary Pearman of Lochbuie, Colorado, and Gary Novotny of Phoenix, Arizona; aunts, uncles, cousins and other extended family members and friends.
Preceding him in death was his grandfather Derold Meyer.
