Kelly Armstrong, 63, of Creston, died Thursday, Dec. 11, 2025, at Accura HealthCare of Creston. Celebration of Life Memorial Services will be held 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17, at Powers Funeral Home in Creston. Full Military Honors will be provided by Theodore J. Martens V.F.W. Post #1797 and the Air Force Honor Guard at a later date. Open memorial visitation, with family to receive friends, will be 4-6:30 p.m., prior to the service Wednesday at Powers Funeral Home in Creston.

Kelly Monroe Armstrong was born Feb. 6, 1962, son to Gladys Marie (Hopkins) Armstrong and Ray Armstrong in Williams, Arizona. He graduated from Creston High School in 1980. Following graduation, he served his country as a part of the United States Air Force. Following the Air Force, Kelly returned to Creston, where he worked several jobs including construction, roofing, at Wellman Dynamic and later drove truck for the co-op before doing various other trucking jobs.
On Aug. 20, 2023, Kelly was united in marriage to Yaqing (Chen) in Creston. He began driving for Nutrient in Creston in 2018 until his health prevented it in 2024.
Kelly was an active member of A. A. and earned his 34-year chip one day at a time. He also held many local and district positions and was awarded the Governor’s Volunteer Award in 2001.
Kelly is survived by his wife Yaqing Armstrong of Creston; two brothers, Michael Armstrong of Arizona and Thomas (Mamie) Armstrong of Centerville; sister Susan Rhone of Afton, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Kelly was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Marti (Joseph) Miller.
