Dale Allen Pals was born Dec. 22, 1944, to Joe and Rea Pals in Creston. He passed away Nov. 13, at the age of 80, surrounded by loved ones.

On Dec. 3, 1966, Dale married Lois Mae Eyerly. Together they built a beautiful life over 59 years of marriage. They were blessed with three children: Kerri, Paul and Curtis. Dale farmed his entire life on the family farm west of Orient, where he continued to reside.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing softball and following the activities of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dale and Lois also enjoyed many trips with family and friends, creating memories they cherished deeply.

Dale graduated from Orient-Macksburg High School in 1963, where he proudly played on the undefeated football team that went unscored upon that season. He served six years in the Army Reserves following graduation and was honored to serve his country.

His faith was deeply important to him, and he was a lifelong member of the Orient Plymouth Congregational Church. Over the years, Dale served his community in many roles, including as an Orient Trustee, as a member of the Orient School Board for three years and on the church board for multiple years.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents; his father- and mother-in-law, Ralph and Jean Eyerly; his brother- and sister-in-law, Jerry and Carol Shinn; brother-in-law Gary Eyerly; sister-in-law Marge Eyerly and niece Debbie Jenness.

He is survived by his loving wife Lois Pals; his children: Kerri (Doug) Neal, Paul (Donna) Pals and Curtis (Jodi) Pals, all of Orient. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Jessica (Justin) Boswell of Orient, Ashley Ross of Orient, Ryan Neal of Orient, Kyle (Chelsie) Pals of Elkhorn, Nebraska, Seth (Abby) Pals of North Liberty and Conner Pals (fiance Shelby Whited) of Creston; several great-grandchildren: Tyson Ross, Preston Kuhns, Emma and Ella Boswell, Corey and Calvin Pals and Andi Pals; his brother, Jack (Lana) Pals of Orient and a sister-in-law, Beverly Eyerly of Johnston.
