Linda June Jobe, 67, of Creston, died Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2025, at Creston Specialty Care in Creston. No public services will be held.

Linda June Thompson Jobe, daughter of Clement and Dorthy Ann (Kelly) Thompson, was born on June 17, 1958, in the Orange County Memorial Hospital in Orlando, Florida. As a child, she attended Des Moines schools.

Linda earned her CNA and worked in a variety of nursing homes in Des Moines. In the early 1980s, she was united in marriage to Michael Joseph Harper. She then had her children and became an active mother and homemaker. Later, Linda and Michael divorced.

In 1994, she was united in marriage to Elvin “Lee” Jobe Jr. at the Waterworks Park in Des Moines. The family moved to the Lake of the Ozarks until 1997, where she worked a variety of jobs. Linda and Lee later divorced.

Linda then returned to Creston and worked some odd jobs. She officially retired in 2024. In her free time she enjoyed gardening, puzzles and horror movies – her favorite being the original “Halloween.”

She is survived by her daughters, Anna Thompson and Sharon Harper, both of Creston; sister Rosanna (Scott) McCaunahey; four grandchildren: Freedom Dawn Silliman, Dusty Levi Champlin, Chevy Van Sauer and Liberty Ann Silliman, along with many other people who considered Linda a mother.

She was preceded in death by her parents and ex-husband, Lee Jobe Jr.
