Allen J. Lillie passed away Sept. 12, 2025, in Phoenix, Arizona. He was born on Dec. 6, 1945, to Dorothy (Trost) and Yale Lillie in Creston. Allen graduated from Clearfield High School in 1964. He graduated from Northwest Missouri State University in 1969 with a Bachelor of Industrial Technology degree and received his Master of Education degree from NWMSU in 1972.
Allen married Myrabel Morey June 1, 1968, at the Methodist Church in Clearfield. They had two children, Sarah and John.
Throughout his long career as an educator, he taught middle school industrial arts in Algona and was a work experience instructor with the Green Valley Area Education Agency in Creston.
Allen enjoyed coaching his kids in their various sports during their childhoods, including baseball and softball. He was an avid runner and ran multiple marathons, including the Drake Relays Marathon. Al and Myra enjoyed traveling and covered many miles throughout their marriage, including celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary in Hawaii with their family.
Although they resided in Arizona for the past 20 years, they always considered Iowa their home.
Allen was preceded in death by his wife Myrabel; parents, Dorothy and Yale; brother Richard; grandparents, Joe and Ruth Trost and John and Ruth Lillie; stepfather Howard Poore and stepbrothers: Gary, Larry and Greg Poore.
He is survived by his daughter Sarah (David) Wood and son John (Trisha) Lillie.
