Sue Oglesbee, 85, of Murray, died Aug. 17, 2025, at her home.

Sue Oglesbee, 85, of Murray, died Aug. 17, 2025, at her home. Celebration of Life Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 25, at the Murray Baptist Church in Murray. Pastor David Melton will officiate the service. Services will be livestreamed. Burial will be in the Murray Cemetery in Murray. There will be open visitation with family receiving friends from 9:30-11 a.m. prior to the celebration of life service at the church.

Frances Sue (Allen) Oglesbee, daughter of Bernard E. Allen and Rose Valentine (Boatwright) Allen, was born on July 20, 1940, in Madison County. Sue grew up in Des Moines with her four siblings: Dorothy, Jack, Darrell and Rosalie. Sue attended Des Moines Tech High School where she graduated with the class of 1958. Sue began working in Des Moines in the office of the Des Moines Real Estate Board.

In 1959, Sue married Dale V. Turner in Norman, Oklahoma. While Dale was in the military, Sue lived in Tennessee and California, working as an office clerk. Sue and Dale then lived in Des Moines and Kansas City before settling in Murray. Together they had four children: Renda, Russell, Raschawn and Randall. Dale died in January 1978.

In 1979, Sue married John F. Seymour in Murray. John had two children from a previous marriage, John and Tammy. John died in January 1986.

On Aug. 21, 1987, Sue married Mack L. Oglesbee at the Broadhorn Church in Truro. They lived in Murray for a year before moving to a farm in Mercer, Missouri, for 15 years and adopted three children: Jeana, Josh and Jeremiah.

They then moved to Ottumwa for seven years, and in 2009, they moved to Creston. Mack died in May 2016. After Mack’s death, Sue moved back to Murray to be closer to her children.

Sue was a member of Murray Baptist Church and the Christian Women’s group.

Sue is survived by her children: Renda (Steve) Baker of Murray, Russ (Julie) Turner of Murray, Raschawn Turner of Des Moines, Randy (Sue) Turner of Murray, Jeana Oglesbee of Perry, Josh Oglesbee of Des Moines and Jeremiah Oglesbee of Texas; eight stepchildren; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Marlys Allen of Urbandale and Mack’s sister Madge (Dave) Meisters of Mitchellville.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents; her three husbands: Dale V. Turner, John F. Seymour and Mack L. Oglesbee; two sisters, Dorothy (Ted) Kelley and Rosalie (Ronnie) Hampton; three brothers: Darrell Allen, Jack (Vivian) Allen and Bernard Allen as a child.
