Connie Rhine, 79, of Creston, died Thursday, May 29, 2025, at her daughter’s home in Clive. Celebration of Life Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 4, at Powers Funeral Home in Creston. Services will be livestreamed. Pastor Jodi Rushing will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery in Creston. Open visitation will be 2-7 p.m., with family receiving friends 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, June 3, at Powers Funeral Home in Creston.

Connie Rhine was born July 19, 1945, to Ralph Wendell Vorrath and Betty Mardelle (Leander) Vorrath in Creston. She was educated in Creston and graduated from Creston High School in 1963.
Connie was united in marriage to David B. Rhine Sept. 2, 1971, in Creston, and two daughters were born to this union. Connie was a lifelong resident of Creston. Connie and Dave later divorced.
Connie worked for almost 20 years as a paralegal secretary at Anderson, Werner, Holm and Steffes Law Offices, and for State Farm Insurance as an insurance agent for another 20 years from 1986-2006 when she retired.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Creston, Ladies Literary, Garden Club, Crestmoor Bridge Club and her Mahjong Club. She thoroughly cherished every outing and various shenanigans with all her friends. Connie loved gardening and working in her yard enjoying the great outdoors. She also enjoyed cooking, baking and making great pies and loved hosting friends and family to create memories of their time together. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her grandkids. They were her pride and joy.
Survivors include her daughters, Heidi (Joel) Ryon of Burlington and Amber (Cory) Megonigle of Clive; four grandchildren: Abigail and Luke Ryon and Madeline and Audrey Megonigle and her beloved dog Cricket.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Rollie Vorrath.
