Terry Sprague, 68, of Creston, died  Saturday, April 26, 2025, at his home in Creston.

Terry Sprague, 68, of Creston, died Saturday, April 26, 2025, at his home in Creston. Celebration of Life Services will be 10 a.m., Friday, May 2, at Powers Funeral Home in Creston. Burial will be in Prairie Lawn Cemetery near Spaulding at a later date. Services will be livestreamed at a link under his obituary at powersfh.com. Pastor Mary O’Riley will officiate. Open visitation will be 2-7 p.m., with family receiving friends from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, May 1, at Powers Funeral Home.

Terry Lee Sprague was born Feb. 26, 1957, son of Carroll Jay Sprague and V. June (Hartman) Sprague in Creston. Terry attended and graduated from Creston High School in 1975.

After schooling, Terry began working for the railroad as a brakeman, enjoying the many places his job took him. He then became employed by Creston City Water Works, where he read water meters. He later worked for Jimmy Dean in Osceola. During this time, he met and married Teri Jo Shinn. From this union came a daughter, T’Lee Jo. Terry and Teri later divorced.

In the early 1990s, Terry began working for Bunn-O-Matic in Creston, starting on the production line before becoming a supervisor. Before his retirement in 2022, Terry worked in the office doing troubleshooting and fixing machines, even traveling to different plants to fix machines.

In 2005, he met Jaye (Jones) Fry and from this union came a daughter, Elizabeth Elaine. On July 5, 2017, Terry and Jaye were united in marriage in the Adair County Courthouse.

Terry enjoyed many things in his life like bowling and softball. He loved the outdoors, including fishing with his family. You could always catch him watching a race or enjoying his motorcycle.

He is survived by his wife Jaye Sprague of Creston; daughters, T’Lee Jo Jones of Des Moines and Elizabeth “Lizzy” Elaine Sprague of Creston; brother Chad (Jeanne) Sprague of Branson, Missouri; sister Pam (Mark) Loudon of Creston; grandchildren: Rachel Warner, Hayden Jones and Serenity Sprague; nieces and nephews: Travis Loudon (significant other Danika), Chris (Dawn) Loudon, Jeremy Liford, Macie Sprague, Jarryn Sprague, Jakob McIntosh and Savannah Sprague; along with numerous extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; brother Rod Sprague and son Nick Sprague.
