Roger S. Claiser, 78, of Rippey, died June 7,  2024, at Dallas County Hospital in Perry.

Roger S. Claiser, 78, of Rippey, passed away June 7, 2024, at the Dallas County Hospital in Perry.

Roger Steven Claiser was born on April 4, 1946, to Clinton Cordon Climax Claiser and Ruby Walton Claiser in Creston. He grew up in Lenox, where he graduated from high school in 1962. Roger then went to Creston Community College for a couple of years. In 1968 he was united in marriage to Viola Elaine Brown. They were blessed with a daughter, Carmen, and two sons, Morgan and Rod.

Roger did construction the majority of his life and was also a mechanic for the Ford parts department. He enjoyed spending time outside mowing his yard and taking care of his animals. Roger was a collector of numerous things over the years. His passion was his Ford Fairlane. He was even a member of the Fairlane Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clinton and Ruby and his sisters, Bonnie and Cindy.

Roger’s legacy lives on with his daughter, Carmen Claiser of Waterloo; two sons, Morgan Claiser of Des Moines and Rod Claiser (Jennifer) of Urbandale; six grandchildren: Kegan Claiser, Taylor Claiser, Mahayla Claiser, Addi Thomas, Kaley Claiser and Gauge Claiser; brother, Davey Claiser of Lenox; sister, Connie Claiser of Colorado; other relatives and friends.

Hastings Funeral Home in Jefferson is in charge of the arrangements. A private family burial will take place in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Greene County.
